Welcome to Wallet-safe payment links
Congratulations on adopting a more secure and flexible way to accept payments.
We help merchants accurately manage and predict future cash flows by using
Wallet-safe payment links and powerful automations that coordinate payment capture and
support your unique, sophisticated payment flows.
It is simple to sign up and
explore our capabilities (no credit card needed).
Top 3 benefits:
* Flexibility - Accept multiple kinds of payments - one-time, group, installment or recurring payments using
credit/debit card or ACH payments
* Ease-of-use - No-code and low-code integration options to get up-and-running faster
* Reduced data-breach impact - Lower PCI compliance burdens and costs by never storing the sensitive financial details of customers
Flexibility
We offer four types of Wallet-safe payment links:
* One-shot Link (1S) - Good for a single payment or invoice
* Group Link (Splice) - Good for a single group reservation, e.g., AlleynePartyOf5RSVP
* Pay 4 Anything Link (P4A) - Good for accepting payment in four installments, e.g., BetterThanNet30
* Recurring Link (R) - Good for no-hassle auto-pay, e.g., MyServiceAutoRenew
Ease-of-use
Simply generate a new Wallet-safe payment link and drop it in an SMS, email, WhatsApp or IG message.
All of the link types, except group/Splice links, can be re-used to process multiple orders
for a product or service.
For example a One-Shot (1S), Pay 4 Anything (P4A) or Recurring (R) Link can be sent to multiple customers
or posted on a public website to accept multiple payments.
Reduced data-breach impact
The simplest way to avoid leaking a customer's sensitive financial data is to not store it.
We use a secure iFrame loaded directly from the servers of our payment gateway
partner and tokenization
to ensure that neither our platform, nor a merchants on our platform ever see these sensitive details.

Back to FAQ
What are Wallet-safe payment links?
Wallet-safe payment links offer a more secure and flexible mechanism for merchants to accept payments.
By leveraging tokenization merchants no longer have to store sensitive financial details of their
customers (not even to process recurring payments), reducing the risk of leaking sensitive details from data breaches, and reducing their PCI compliance burden and cost!
Back to FAQ
What are the different types of Wallet-safe payment links a merchant can use?
We offer four types of Wallet-safe payment links:

Back to FAQ
What makes Wallet-safe payment links more secure?
Neither the merchant nor the PtreePay platform ever see or save a customer's
sensitive financial details thanks to
tokenization.
Because we never store these details we eliminate the risk of exposing them in a data breach.
When a customer enters their credit/debit card or ACH (bank account) details they are captured in a secure iFrame loaded from the
servers of the payment gateway. The PtreePay platform only sees an opaque token returned from the secure
iFrame that the payment gateway will accept in lieu of the actual credit/debit card or ACH details.
These opaque tokens can also be used for recurring charges (auto-pay), again avoiding the need for having the original
payment details.
Back to FAQ
Can merchants setup auto-pay for customers?
Recurring or installment payments can be re-charged without customers having to re-enter their credit/debit card or ACH details
thanks to our use of
tokenization.
Back to FAQ
Do I have to do credit checks or become a creditor to accept installment payments?
No! You don't have to do credit checks or become a creditor to accept installments.
Installment payments are set up as an initial charge of 25% followed by three, automatically recurring,
charges of 25% on a customers credit/debit card or bank account.
The merchant only receives revenue when the initial charge of 25% is processed and when each recurring charge of 25% is processed.
As a best practice we recommend that merchants only allow installment payments from trusted customers (e.g., repeat customers or customers in
a merchant's membership program) or trusted B2B (supply-chain) partners.
For further protection, we encourage merchants to include the Card Account Updater service in their package to reduce the likelihood of
failed recurring (future) charges due to card churn, loss or expiration.
